Anise Hyssop (Agastache Foeniculum) Blue Giant Hyssop

Attracts bees, hummingbirds, butterflies. Finches, juncos, sparrows, and other songbirds will enjoy its seeds.

Dry to medium soil. Will adapt to different well draining soils  


Hyssop is a great herb that was used in medicine, has antibacterial, insecticidal, and antifungal properties, therefore it naturally repels pests. Good companion for cabbage family plants. 

Its dark green leaves used to flavor salads, soups, liqueurs, and stews, it ca be used as fragrant to soaps and perfumes.


It will look great in the rock garden, or by the side of the road, grows in clumps(clusters). 

 

This gorgeous flower likes full sun but can also be in part shade. When transplanting into soil, water it well until established. After that occasionally when it’s a dry season. In winter leave the plant as it is, it will be used by the birds ass a food source. Late april, beginning of may, cut back for up to 2 in above ground. Dehead if you’d like, but Birds absolutely love its seeds. 

Purple Giant Hyssop (Agastache Scrophulariifolia)

Native in NY. Threatened status in NY (6-80 locations)


Adaptable in many well drained soils. Found in dry, medium, rich, and clay soils
