Rich, moist, medium, to clay in well drained soils. Leaves can be used for teas or dishes for a subtle minty taste. Thrives in full sun and partial shade. Add compost when it’s blooming and allow for air circulation (need to trim off some stems). Deadhead flowers to promote more blooms. When planting, amend soil with a few inches of compost for better moisture retention. Ideal is 1-2 in of water a week (by rain or watering). Cut back in spring after the last frost, usually at the end of April, beginning of May
